Abstract
-
Basic pack-siliconizing processing variables such as time, temperature, edge and surface preparation, activator concentration, and powder size are being investigated to optimize oxidation life and coating adherence for this sheet material. Fifteen vanadium-columbium alloy compositions have been pack-siliconized and oxidation-tested. Minimum life has been established at about 150 hr at 200 F for each of the alloys.
