Abstract
-
The investigation confirms the superiority of square pictures, and because 4-lens photographs have an approximately square format, it also confirms their superiority over any kind of 2-lens photographs. The 4-lens camera allows the strip width to be doubled, thereby cutting the flying time for aerial mapping about 50%. A maximum reduction of ground control is also permitted, with excellent balance between height and planimetry accuracy. Of all the multiple- lens cameras, only the 4-lens unit has potentialities, particularly in spatial traversing.
