Abstract
The determination of the suitability of electron bombardment for measuring the thermophysical properties of materials is made. A solution is given which is applicable to the case of a radiating cylindrical sample. Conclusions are that the technique offers a valuable tool for measuring these properties within described limits. Values of α, k, ρcp and ε were determined for graphite and Al2O3 (Polycrystalline). Recommendations on instrumentation are made for the further development of this technique.
