Abstract
-
The mechanical response of IN100 at 732 C (1350 F) is calculated using the state variable constitutive equation of Bodner and Partom. The model is based on the concept that the inelastic component of the strain rate is non-zero for all non-zero values of stress and that separate loading and unloading conditions are not required. The plastic strain rate separate loading and unloading conditions are not required. The plastic strain rate depends on a state variable that describes the resistance to plastic flow. In this report, it is demonstrated that the coefficients in evolution equation for the state variable can be determined from a systematic analysis of tensile and creep data. The model is used to predict the stress relaxation and cyclic response of the material.
