Abstract
-
Emission spectra of the molecular species present in the atmospheres of Mars and Venus are determined to provide quantitative information for evaluation of the radiative heating of probes entering these atmospheres. Values of emission intensity from carbon dioxide and nitrogen mixtures are given, along with spectra for the infrared emission of carbon dioxide and ultraviolet, and visible emission of carbon monoxide.
