Abstract
-
The self-excited vibration of a landing gear is generated in an interplay of effects present in the tire, the landing gear proper, and in the entire airfram itself. The analysis of these simultaneous actions is given a simple form; the manner in which energy enters the system, and the necessary structural modifications to control ahimmy are explained.
